用來做data backup，外置，快慢都係次要，穩陣小鑊氣先係真．

其實一直都用開 WD Green，冇事．不過近日見有ｄ forum唱到呢款好多鑊氣咁，而家想加隻1.5T(or 2T），心大心細，唔知有冇其他牌子選擇添呢？我見Hitachi同Seagate都更平．

Actually, just for data backup (i.e low usage), WD green should be OK. If you want something better and can't stretch to "server grade", WD black should be good enough for most applications.

I bought 2 Hitachi 2TB recently (at HKD9xx). There is no problem so far. I think that they are good enough for backup purpose. I used WD green before but those new version WD green harddisk use advance format and need special manipulation under XP so I change to Hitachi.

What is the special manipulation by WD?

I use Win7, but don't want any special manipulation as portability is important.

In Win XP and under some other conditions, you need to run an utiliy before using the latest WD green harddisks. Not so user friendly to me. See the link below:

I had bad experience with IBM (later then sell it to Hitachi). ever since, I am not buying Deskstar. Seagate, a lot of problem reported, so I am staying away too.

Now I am in WD Enterprise grade only........

有HITACHI, 有FUJITSU, 有WD, 有SEAGATE.........

都係GOLDEN買到平既款
唯一一隻囉過去聯強換既....
就係SEAGATE

The problem with Seagate is that there were occasional "lemons". I have mixed experience with Seagates, some lasted for a very long time and some lasted only for a couple of years.

我用緊7隻WD既HD,500,640,1TB 2TB,7X24咁BT,
兩年以都未有死過

當然可以當係個別事件啦,2TB仲係最近先買,唔可以作準,不過我覺得唔錯

啱啱屎咗隻wd1T green，做外置裝data不到一年，早兩曰抄data一完即無法辨識，毫無預兆！

I have bought a 2nd hand Seagate HD taking out from an ext. HD with waranty up to 2012.but it is out of order after a while.
As I check the s/n no. with the dealer and he said if dismount from enclosure, waranty void.
Pls advise? Should I find an enclosure?

我諗死雞都係一時時。
我有一隻2.5同一隻3.5。
用左兩年都無咩事。

反而有隻“水牛”2.5用左三個月就死左。
